Argonians have a fairly small presence in Skyrim, yet you would still expect them to have brought some cultural items from Black Marsh with them. Unfortunately, Skyrim is devoid of any such thematic items, which makes any Argonian playthrough a little flavourless.
Enter the latest entry in the New Armory Series! This mod adds a set of Argonian-themed weapons to inject a bit more of the Elder Scrolls into Skyrim.
These Argonian weapons are fairly primitive, mostly made of bone and wood, but still elegant and deadly. They are intended as huntsman- and fisherman-themed weapons and tools from the land of Black Marsh, and use textures and mesh parts from the Argonian Fishing rod from the Fishing Creation. As such, Fishing (which is a standard part of the Anniversary Edition) is absolutely required. Before you ask: no, there’s no way to make a version without it.
This mod adds 7 new Argonian-themed weapons, 1 new iron weapon, plus 6 more optional Heavy / Animated Armoury style weapons with the Weapons Addon option installed
These weapons are on par with Orcish in terms of damage, but weigh less.
The Weapon Addon contains 2 special weapons: the Fishing Trident and Fishing Harpoon. Both weapons have a damage bonus versus Mudcrab, Slaughterfish, and Horker.
All weapons can be crafted, but the requirements depend on the player’s race. Non-Argonians will need to unlock the Advanced Armors perk first, while Argonian players will have early access, only requiring the Steel perk.
You can also choose between two possible ways to distribute these weapons to a select number of (mostly) Argonian NPCs. This is done either with an ESP that directly edits the NPC records, or through SPID (which does not edit any records, so it’s free of conflict with other mods).
This mod requires CC: Fishing!
There are no changes to the way the mechanics in fishing work, so there is no conflict with popular mods like Simple Fishing Overhaul, Fishing Preview, or Fishing - Reduced Cut.
NPC - Compatibility and Patches
Edits to NPCs are completely optional, as you can choose if and how you want to distribute weapons to NPCs. There's an optional ESP file in the download section that adds new weapons directly to NPC inventories.
