Please examine these Terms of Service ("Terms") comprehensively before accessing, browsing, or utilizing our platform. We expressly highlight the importance of the following clauses for your careful review:

(a) The scope of the licenses and usage rights you grant to us regarding any content you submit, as detailed in Section 8 (License to User Content); and

(b) The specific exclusions and limitations regarding our legal liability to you, as established in Section 13 (Limitation of Liability).

If you do not consent to be bound by these Terms in their entirety, you are strictly prohibited from accessing, registering for, or utilizing our website.

1. Corporate Identity and Contact Information

This website and its associated services are operated by GGMods (referred to in these terms as we, us, or our). We are headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. GGMods is a community-driven platform that provides the digital infrastructure to host, discover, and distribute user-generated video game modifications (“mods”). This platform exists to enable the distribution, discovery, and discussion of community contributions while ensuring mod authors retain ownership of their original work. 2. Eligibility and Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or utilizing our Site, you represent and warrant that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue all use of the Site. Regarding age eligibility:

Adult Users: You represent that you are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction; OR
Minor Users: You represent that you are at least 13 years of age and are accessing the Site with the explicit knowledge and verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian.

We strongly recommend that you print or save a digital copy of this agreement for your personal records.

3. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features, you may be required to register a user account.

Credential Confidentiality: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, user ID, and any other security credentials. You may not share these details with any third party.
Device Security: If you access the Site from a shared or public device, you must ensure you log out completely after each session to prevent unauthorized access.
Security Breach Notification: You agree to notify us immediately at admin@ggmods.com if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or knowledge of your password.
Account Recovery: In the event of lost credentials, we may be unable to restore account access if you cannot verify ownership via the original registration email.
Profile Content: All user profiles, including usernames, avatars, and signatures, must adhere to our community standards. Distracting, flashing, or malicious profile elements are prohibited.
Termination Rights: We reserve the right to disable, suspend, or terminate your account at any time for any reason, particularly if we reasonably believe you have failed to comply with these Terms.
Impersonation: When selecting a username or an identifying display name. You may not choose a name or identifier that impersonates, misrepresents, or is intended to deceive others into believing you are another creator, moderator, or representative of the platform.

Usernames or display names that are coincidentally similar to others are permitted; however, any deliberate attempt to imitate, mislead, or fraudulently represent another user or entity is strictly prohibited.

4. Platform Integrity and Security

While we work to maintain a secure platform and conduct automated scanning and security monitoring of uploaded content, we cannot guarantee that the Site will be secure or free from bugs, viruses, or vulnerabilities. You are responsible for configuring your own information technology and virus protection software.

Malicious Code: The distribution of viruses, malware, or any form of harmful or malicious content is strictly forbidden. GGMods scans all uploads for security threats. Any user found intentionally uploading or distributing such content will be subject to immediate consequences, including permanent bans and additional enforcement measures.
Scanning Responsibility: While GGMods scans for malware, knowingly distributing harmful content is strictly prohibited. Users are not required to implement specific industry-standard scanning tools, but are responsible for screening content to protect themselves from any malicious or technologically harmful material.

5. File Submission Standards and Mod Authorship

Any video, image, software, or file you upload to the Site must strictly adhere to our quality benchmarks and content standards.

Provenance: You may only upload content that you personally created or have a verifiable license to distribute.
Attribution: You must provide clear credit to original authors and ensure no third-party rights are infringed by your submission.
Mod Packs & Compilations: We strictly prohibit the unauthorized repackaging of other authors' work.
Metadata Accuracy: Content must be functional, accurately described, and correctly tagged. Deceptive tagging or empty placeholders are prohibited.
Public Use Only: All submissions must be for the purpose of public sharing and community use. Using the Site as private remote storage is strictly prohibited.

If you do not fully own the rights to the content you upload, you are solely responsible for obtaining all required permissions and consents from any third-party rights holders. If you fail to procure the necessary consent, you are solely responsible for any liability resulting from failure to meet these requirements.

If a third party claims that your content infringes their intellectual property or privacy rights, we may disclose your identity to them. You are responsible for responding to and resolving these claims directly.

6. Community Standards and Conduct

Your participation in forums, threads, and comments must be professional, respectful, and constructive.

Civil Discourse: You must not insult, antagonize, harass, or discriminate against other users or staff.
Prohibited Topics: Defamatory, abusive, or hateful content is strictly forbidden.
Spam: The posting of unsolicited advertisements, spam, misleading links, or repetitive nonsense is prohibited.
Anti-Circumvention: Attempts to bypass our word filters or moderation tools are grounds for suspension.
No Vigilantism: Users should report violations using site tools rather than engaging in public arguments or vigilante moderation.
Consequences of Non-Compliance: Failure to comply with these standards will result in immediate disciplinary action, including formal strikes, temporary account suspension, or permanent banning at our sole discretion.

7. Prohibited Harmful Materials

You are strictly prohibited from generating, hosting, or distributing the following:

Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age, or sexual orientation.
Child Safety: We strictly prohibit CSAM and age-up mods that depict characters who are or appear to be children in sexual or romantic situations.
Illegal Content: You are strictly prohibited from using the Site to generate, host, or distribute content involving any recognized criminal activity.
Non-Consensual Sexual Material: The distribution of non-consensual intimate imagery or revenge porn is strictly forbidden.
Violence and Self-Harm: We ban excessive gore, depictions of real-world violence intended to shock, and any content that encourages, instructs on, or glorifies self-harm or suicide.
Incitement to Violence: Any content that inspires or provides instructions for acts of real harm or violence is prohibited.

8. License to User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload. To operate the platform, you grant GGMods a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and format your content.

Scope: This license is strictly for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Site.
Marketing & Promotion: You grant us the right to use your content to promote the Site. For the avoidance of doubt, this right is for promotional purposes only and does not transfer ownership of your intellectual property to GGMods.
No Commercial Exploitation: This license does not grant GGMods the right to create films, merchandise, franchises, or unrelated commercial derivative works based on your content.
Revocability: You may revoke this license at any time by deleting your content from the Site. Once deleted, we will cease all distribution of your content, though you acknowledge that we cannot retrieve copies already downloaded by other users.

9. Data Mining, Scraping, and AI Policy

Permitted Automation: We allow automated extraction strictly for legitimate ecosystem functionality, including compatibility tools, update monitoring, dependency resolution, API integrations, and accessibility tools.
AI Training Restriction: You shall not use, and we do not consent to the use of, our site, or any data published by, or contained in, or accessible via, our site for the purposes of developing, training, fine-tuning or validating any AI system or model.

Except for the permitted automation described above, you may not use any robots, spiders, scrapers, crawlers, bots, scripts, or other automated tools, devices, or algorithms to access, extract, copy, download, index, monitor, or collect data or content from any portion of the Site. This includes, without limitation, bulk downloading, dataset creation, data mining, or any activity that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure or circumvents access controls, rate limits, or security measures.

We reserve the sole and absolute right to determine whether any automated or programmatic activity falls within permitted use. If we determine that your use does not qualify as permitted automation, we may suspend or revoke access at any time, with or without notice, and may take additional enforcement action.

10. Anti-Piracy Policy

We enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding piracy. Distributing, promoting, or linking to pirated software, cracks, or stolen intellectual property will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

11. Discretionary Rewards Scheme

We may operate a discretionary rewards scheme to reward mod authors for their contributions.

Discretionary Nature: Any such scheme is entirely discretionary and non-contractual. It does not form part of these Terms.
Amendment Rights: GGMods reserves the right to withdraw, vary, or amend the scheme at any time.

12. Moderation and Enforcement

Reporting Tools: Users may file reports regarding illegal content, privacy violations, harassment, or infringement on other content author permissions.
Moderation Rights: We retain the exclusive right to monitor and moderate all user activity and may take action against accounts without prior warning.
Ban Evasion: Creating new accounts to bypass a ban is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban of all associated accounts.
Endorsement: While we make reasonable efforts to review and manually approve hosted content, some material may not be identified during review. The presence of any content on GGMods does not constitute approval, endorsement, or recommendation by GGMods, and it should not be interpreted as such.

13. Third-Party Links

Where our Site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources. We accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our liability is limited as follows:

For All Users: We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so (e.g., liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud).

For Business Users: We exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations, or other terms that may apply to our Site or any content on it. We will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with use of, or inability to use, our Site; or use of or reliance on any content displayed on our Site. In particular, we will not be liable for: loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue; business interruption; loss of anticipated savings; loss of business opportunity, goodwill, or reputation; or any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

For Consumer Users: Please note that we only provide our Site for domestic and private use. You agree not to use our Site for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Montreal, Quebec.

16. Amendments to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting an announcement on our website and email. It will be your responsibility to review the changes. Changes apply prospectively from their effective date and do not retroactively alter how we handled data under a prior version. Your continued use of the service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
