Blue Whales (Animal Series) Mod

The Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a massive marine mammal belonging to the baleen whale parvorder, Mysticeti. Reaching lengths of up to 98 feet and weighing as much as 173 short tons (346,000 lbs), it is the largest mammal ever known to exist.
Long and streamlined, the blue whale’s body ranges from bluish-gray on its back to lighter shades along its underside. Like other baleen whales, its diet consists almost entirely of krill.
On Nirn, blue whales were once abundant across nearly every ocean until the early Third Era. Excessive hunting drove them to the brink of extinction, making sightings rare—particularly in Skyrim, where fishing dominates coastal life. Still, a few can be found along Skyrim’s northern coasts and in the surrounding seas of Solstheim.
Blue whales are generally non-aggressive and will not attack unless provoked.
This mod includes custom sounds and loot. Due to engine limitations, I couldn’t expand the bounding box to match the whale’s true size. Instead, I adjusted the skeleton so the head lies within the bounding box—meaning you’ll need to strike its head to deal damage. Since you’ll be facing the front most of the time anyway, it keeps the combat both practical and immersive (after all, swinging through a whale’s head like it isn’t there would look rather silly).
While not required, I recommend using Character Behaviors Enhanced to enable underwater combat, along with a clear-water mod for better visibility. Be warned: whales hit extremely hard in water—so come well-prepared, or take the safer route and attack from a distance with arrows.
