Plesiosaurs
Plesiosaurs are massive marine reptiles that inhabit most oceans surrounding Tamriel, including the frigid Sea of Ghosts. The northern populations have adapted to the icy waters much like other great sea creatures—through gigantothermy, immense caloric intake, and thick fat reserves.
Primarily piscivores, they feed on fish and shellfish, though unwary sailors and adventurers who drift too close have been known to vanish beneath the waves.
Their long, serpentine necks grant them exceptional reach while fishing and provide a deadly advantage against melee attackers. Ironically, their slender necks make them poor targets for arrows and spells, leaving attackers with little chance of landing a shot. The safest strategy is to aim for center mass, though this is far easier said than done.
