Long ago, in the Dawn Era, when Nirn was still in its infancy and before the rise of civilization, the world teemed with ancient beasts of unimaginable size and power. Some were as ferocious as Daedra, others far larger than any dragon known today.
Among these primal titans were the Ceratopsids—massive, horned, beaked saurids, their heads crowned with frills for protection and great horns for defense. Scholars of Tamriel have long speculated on a possible kinship between Ceratopsids and the dreaded Clannfears, theorizing that long ago, chaotic creatia was used to shape Clannfears from these ancient creatures.
Before Mundus itself was finalized, the Et’Ada fashioned several “rough drafts” of existence—astral realms layered atop one another, each filled with the raw, primal life of the Dawn Era. Mundus as we know it was shaped from the final draft, but echoes of those earlier worlds remain, untouched by mortals.
In time, a sect of Druids (distant kin of the Forsworn) and their allies among the Hagravens sought to tap into these realms. By studying the sigils that birthed Oblivion gates, they attempted to reroute such power, creating a portal not to Oblivion but to this ancient astral world. From it, they succeeded in bringing forth Ceratopsids into modern Mundus.

Ceratopsid Types
- Triceratops
- The heavy sluggers of the species. They strike with crushing force, capable of sending opponents flying with massive knockback. They boast the highest endurance and are the hardest to bring down.
- Styracosaurus
- Recognizable by their spiked frills, these beasts hit even harder than Triceratops but with less knockback and less durability. They are also the most aggressive variant, often attacking on sight. Approach with extreme caution.
- Pachyrhinosaurus
- Smaller and more evasive than the others, with medium health and unpredictable behavior. They usually flee from conflict, but when threatened, they release pheromones that rally nearby wildlife to their defense. A fight with one can quickly escalate into a swarm battle if you’re not prepared.
