Gameplay

Adds the option to use repair services to heal robot companions, plus modding framework.

Repairable Companions

If you're running any gameplay setup that has the companion auto-heal after combat feature disabled, then it can be somewhat of an hassle to heal or revive your robot companions like Ed-E. Stimpaks do not work on robots. And doctors do not heal them either. So your only option is the Heal With Scrap Metal tweak in Stewie's. All in all, it just makes robots feel a bit left out.

With Repairable Companions, robot companions can now be repaired by traders. Simply talk to a trader that offers repair services and repair the robot like you would any other regular item. The companion would have to be within a loaded nearby grid to show up in the menu, unless it is unconscious. If the companion is unconscious, then purchasing a repair will revive them in addition to healing. The cost is configurable in the companion INI profiles, located inside the "Repairable Companions\Config\RepairableCompanions" folder. By default, both Ed-E and Rex are repairable, with full base costs at 150 and 100 caps respectively. Only 100 for Rex since he's already healable with stimpaks

You can also easily set up the repair option for a modded companion, or any companion for that matter. Just make a copy of an existing profile, rename the file the EditorID of the companion, and change the image and cost to your liking.

Requirements

New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE xNVSE)

JIP LN NVSE

ShowOff xNVSE Plugin

JohnnyGuitar NVSE

Installation

Install all requirements. Load order doesn't matter. Can be installed mid-game. No ESP.

Modding

All companion profiles are located in the "Repairable Companions\Config\RepairableCompanions". To make the feature compatible with a companion, simply make a copy of an existing profile and rename it as the EditorID of the companion. There are 3 fields in the profile:

1. Enable - Enable the feature for the companion

2. Image - The "item image" of the companion in the Repair Services menu

3. Cost - The full base cost of the repair from 0% to 100% health, so excluding the effects of Barter

Instructions

Download and install with Mod Organizer 2.
