Founding Modder’s Program

What is a Founding Modder?
Founding Modders are early creators helping shape the future of GGMods. Members of the program receive a cash advance to bring their mods to the platform, along with early access to upcoming tools, features, and platform initiatives. Founding Modders also provide direct feedback on creator workflows, platform systems, and future development priorities, helping guide GGMods as it grows.
What is required of Founding Modders?
- Mirror Your Mods: Help us build out the platform’s initial library by mirroring your high-quality mods into GGMods.
- Join the Discord: Gain access to exclusive Discord channels to communicate directly with staff and other fellow founding modders, and to provide us with feedback on features as they are developed.
- Shape the Future of the Platform: Help us prioritize the tools, features, and upload flows that matter most to you. Your voice is important.
What do Founding Modders receive?
Founding Modders receive a cash advance in exchange for bringing their mods to GGMods. Members may also receive early access to experimental features, creator-focused tools, promotional opportunities, and other platform initiatives as they become available.
Are the mods uploaded by Founding Modders exclusive to GGMods?
No. Founding Modders can mirror their existing mods onto GGMods. We do not ask for exclusivity from our authors for this program.
Who qualifies for this program?
The Founding Modder Program is currently operating through a waitlist and rolling selection process. While download history, portfolio quality, community presence, and game relevance are all considered, GGMods is also actively selecting creators based on upcoming targeted game campaigns and long-term platform needs. We’ll slowly be selecting users off the waitlist, and reaching out to collaborate together. Creators already participating in the GGMods community and actively uploading mods to the platform may receive priority consideration as the program expands, as we’d love to give opportunities to present users, regardless of size. How are cash advances determined?
Cash advances vary depending on the creator, game, and scope of content being brought to GGMods. Factors may include the number of mods being mirrored, historical download performance across existing platforms, community reach, and relevance to ongoing platform initiatives or targeted game campaigns. Please email edil@ggmods.com for more information if you’d like to be considered and would like these calculations applied to your mods. But please note communication will likely be slow as the website grows alongside our workload.
Founding Modder Referral Program
The Founding Modder Referral program is a limited-time paid referral system to compensate those who help us populate the site while we grow. If you enjoy what we do here at GGMods and know of someone you’d think would thrive in the program, we are happy to compensate you both. Authors with 1M+ unique downloads across their mods qualify for this program.
How it works:
- If you know of an author who qualifies and would be interested in joining our program, connect with them to talk about it and confirm their interest.
- Email their portfolio and contact details (with the modder’s consent only) to edil@ggmods.com.
- We reach out to them with a formal offer, including a Founding Modder Advance for them to join GGMods.com.
- Once they sign and upload the number of mods they committed, you receive your reward and they receive their cash advance for becoming a Founding Modder.
Please note:
- When submitting referrals, please ensure you’ve already spoken with the individual, confirmed their interest, and obtained their consent to share their email and information. Do not collect or share anyone’s personal details without their explicit permission.
- We reserve the right to decline referrals if the mods do not meet our stability or safety standards, regardless of download counts.
Can I refer myself?
You can not refer yourself, but you can absolutely apply to the program directly by reaching out to edil@ggmods.com with your portfolio and receive a cash advance if you qualify!
What if multiple people refer the same person?
The program works on a first come, first serve basis. If multiple people refer the same author, the payment for the lead goes to the first person who submitted details.
What if the person I’m thinking of doesn’t meet the 1M+ unique downloads threshold?
You are free to invite them into GGMods regardless. If they use you as a referral, you will both automatically enter the refer-a-friend program’s giveaway.
Refer-A-Friend Program
Users who refer their friends to GGMods are also eligible for our Steam key giveaway. Whether a mod author, mod user, or a developer, everyone using GGMods counts.
In order to participate, simply enter the User ID (The set of numbers including/excluding the # besides a user’s display name) of the user who referred you in the Account tab of your profile!
This will grant one entry to both you (the user being referred) and the person who referred you. Additionally, multiple people can use the same person as a referral, and they will gain additional entries for the giveaway for each person referred.
Please Note: The creation of fraudulent, alternate accounts for the purpose of gaining multiple entries into the giveaway will be flagged by our system and lead to the perpetrator being removed from the giveaway.
Details:
- There will be 10 winners chosen at random who will each win a Steam Giftcard with the value of: $100 USD.
- The giveaway winners will be chosen on the following date: June 12th, 2026.
- Users who had already input a referral are automatically granted the corresponding number of entries retroactively.
- Founding modders are allowed to participate in this giveaway as well.
