Expanded Archetypes

Expanded Archetypes is a content mod for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader that adds new abilities and talents to the existing Tier 1 archetypes. The goal is to provide more variety, build-defining choices, and missing playstyle niches—while keeping Tier 2 focused on specialization.

Soldier – Shotguns & Heavy Weapons

Pistol Whip – Melee strike with a ranged weapon, with a chance to stun.

Butt Strike – Pistol Whip deals bonus damage with two-handed ranged weapons.

Street Sweeper – Shotgun blasts cause pushbacks even on a miss.

Shearing Shots – +50% overpenetration.

Gut Shot – Shotgun attacks at adjacent range automatically hit.

Big Guns – +10 armor while wielding a heavy weapon.

Suppressing Fire – Heavy weapons inflict slow.

Operative – Stealth & Precision

Disengage – Exit melee safely and lower target priority.

Backstab – Bonus damage when lowest-priority target.

Marked Target – One exploit remains intact when others are removed.

Vanish – Using Perfect Spot makes the Operative lowest priority.

No Scope – Reduced cost for Deadeye Shot.

Extra Attributes/Skills – More flexible character builds.

Officer – Heroic Self-Buffs

Deeds Not Words – Stat buff scaling with Fellowship.

Shield of Courage – Deeds buff adds armor.

Guide My Hand – Deeds buff makes attacks auto-hit.

Audacity – Use Fellowship instead of Agility for Dodge.

Warrior – Flamers & Two-Handed Weapons

Fuel for the Fire – Triggers burning on nearby targets.

Pyromaniac – Refunds 1 AP the first time you fire a flamer or melta per turn.

Conflagration – Adds burning stacks based on Ballistic Skill.

Enveloping Flames – Increases minimum damage of flame/melta weapons.

Cleave Through – Deal damage to an adjacent enemy after a kill with a two-hander.

Overhead Smash – Increases armor penetration with two-handed melee weapons.
