The Devil's in the Details


Introduction:

  1. As mentioned in the intro, the Devil's in the Details is a quest mod all about Clavicus Vile. You'll be joining Calithar, a scholar obssessed with the Prince in his hunt for those affected by the god's deals. These people will all have their own unique stories to tell and depending on your judgement, wishes they will want fulfilled. The mod will delve into some lesser known aspects of Clavicus Vile, including niche lore topics and pre-existing stories of the Prince.


Features:

  1. Unique idea. While Clavicus Vile is a well known Daedric Prince, his insidious wishes haven't been properly explored in many quest mods. This mod should give players a look into Vile's nature and tell tragic stories of those affected by the chaos he sows. With around 2 hours of playtime, the mod is a much longer journey than my other content and should satisfy any fans of the Daedric Prince.
  2. Fully voiced. This quest has been voiced by three incredible VAs, MeekVoice, Alex Cain and D. D. Rumin. These talented individuals have appeared in mods like VIGILANT and Beyond Skyrim Bruma and have worked with prolific creators like JaySerpa. The quality on display is superb and all the actors have appeared in multiple of my previous mods.


  1. 550 lines of dialogue. With four characters in the mod, and a line count of over 550, the project features over 45 minutes of raw dialogue, all written to an incredibly high standard. This tops the previous record of 350 lines of dialogue by some margin and makes this the biggest project I've ever worked on. While it wasn't my aim or intention to write so many lines of dialogue, the story and characters were life-like and realistic enough to warrant that level of attention. From extra stories about Clavicus Vile to branching paths dependent on choices, the mod contains a cohesive story with immense attention to detail, all performed to a very high standard.


  1. Unique questline. For those of you familiar with my previous mods, this project slightly differs in the overall approach and design. This mod will have you investigating smaller NPCs with their own tragic tales while still developing and building a relationship with the main NPC, Calithar. The mod is still heavily focused on dialogue but will allow the player to become invested in multiple stories, all tied together by the Prince of Bargains.


  1. Consequences for your actions. From exclusive dialogue to different endings, the mod ensures that the player's choices within the quest are addressed and accommodated. This creates a realistic and grounded approach to the design of this project and ensures the player is rewarded from their decisions in the various stages but also quests they may have completed earlier in their playthrough.

  2. New locations. While not the focal point of the project, the mod features four brand new locations to explore. The main of the four is a brand new small dungeon for the player to explore and fight through. These are all made by the incredible EXIT who did an excellent job with these new sites. From the unique ideas on display to quest stage dependent additions, the new locations are packed with detail and should slot perfectly into the vanilla game. To ensure the locations feel grounded into the story not just with visual design, I wrote multiple notes and journals to give further context into what the places once were.

Can the mod be downloaded mid-game?

  1. Yes, it's completely fine to install mid-game.

Is it ESLed?

  1. It is not. It exceeds the ESL limit and so we couldn't make it a light plugin.

Is the mod clean?

  1. Yes, I have only edited the necessary cells, there should be no conflicts due to dirty edits.

How do I start the quest?

  1. You must speak to Calithar within his cabin. The exact image can be found in the image tab.

What level should I be for the quest?

  1. Unlike many of my other mods, this one does contain combat and so I would recommend a level of 15+. Due to the nature of certain enemies, I didn't wanna trivialise them and make them too easy so if you're under that recommendation, you may find it a little challenging.

Can I make a patch for the mod?

  1. I'd love it people made patches for any incompatibilities that arise, if you could send these to me, I'll upload them onto the mod page.

Can it be ported to Xbox?

  1. Snipey360 has my permission to port to Xbox
