Requiem - Exhaustion and Stamina Fix
What does this mod do?
This fixes an annoying issue with Requiem where the player becomes stuck in an Exhaustion State after attacking, running, and blocking.
The problem was caused by a background script continuing to run after the effect had already ended. Under certain conditions (state transitions, cell changes, or heavy combat), the script could fail to shut down correctly and repeatedly reapply exhaustion, preventing normal stamina recovery.
Performance impact Fix
Before the fix
- OnUpdate could continue firing indefinitely
- Update interval: ~0.1 seconds
- Script stayed alive even after the effect ended
On low-end CPUs, this could:
- Increase Papyrus latency
- Delay other scripts
- Make combat feel sluggish
In worst cases, the script effectively became a permanent background poll. It won’t increase your free FPS, but it reduces unnecessary Papyrus activity, which can help with stability on lower-end systems or heavily scripted setups.
Notes
This is a bug fix only.
All gameplay behaviour remains unchanged outside of preventing the exhaustion state from becoming stuck.
