SKYPATCHER

  1. With the power of SkyPatcher by Zzyxzz, Aela's new voice is distributed to Aela's NPC record (and only hers) regardless what visual replacer you are using for her. Just make sure this mod is overwritten by anything that affects Aela. Some mods alters her NPC record without advertising it plainly, so set this mod priority really low.


  1. However, if you can't/don't want to use Skypatcher, you can simply drag the VoiceType record to the right in xEdit until it loads last in Aela's NPC record. The unique voice is named "_AelaByAuctorVoice" in the included Aela Revoiced.esp (flagged ESL). If it is not working right away, if could be you/your modlist has disabled SkyPatching of NPCs. Check your skypatcher's configuration file (usually under "skse\plugins\SkyPatcher.ini") then look for "iEnableNPCPatching", make sure it's set to 1. Here is an image that shows how you do the xEdit drag-and-drop solution, when not using SkyPatcher:



  1. AGAIN, IMPORTANT: Skypatcher or not, make sure the Aela Revoiced.esp loads early in your load order, so that it doesn't overwrite your other Aela mods. Again, for the final time, this mod should not overwrite anything. Skypatcher forwards the VoiceType record regardless what replacer you use. If it for some reason doesn't (see Skypatcher ini setting above), you use the xEdit solution. If you have a skypatcher NPC Replacer you will likely have to carry the voicetype forward to that in xEdit. Don't complain to me about not knowing xEdit since that is not my problem. :)


FORMLIST MANIPULATOR - FLM

  1. The second requirement is FormList Manipulator - FLM by MaskedRPGFan. It will ensure that Aela has access to base game and modded voice functions.


No other requirements!


Incompatibilities:

Since Aela's VoiceType record FemaleCommander is changed, she will not be affected/included in mods like Echoes of Oblivion, Chatty NPCs, Cheeky Kids, Outfit Recognition Framework, Naked Comments Overhaul, NPCs Reacts to X, Collision Dialogue Overhaul or Relationship Dialogue Overhaul. In other words, Aela will not be silent in scenes from those mods, she is automatically excluded with her new voice. That is the trade-off with this mod, but at the same time, FDE: Aela already covers the functionality of some of those mods. Integrating a new VoiceType into other mods with plugin patches might be done in the future, but it is not a priority since FDE: Aela does some of those functions and much, much more.


However, all mods that don't have VoiceType FemaleCommander as a condition for functionality can easily be patched in the future, such as quest mods that use Aela as an NPC in scenes, or follower mods that have NPCs banter with Aela. Those simply need dialogue with the new voice, otherwise Aela will be silent in those scenes.
