Rose
Rose traveled with her brother, Cori the Hat Mouse, from their little home in the mountains to find a place to open her own bakery. However, she was unaware of how suspicious some humans would be of her and her brother. After Morris runs them out of Pelican Town, Rose is now convinced she can never have human friends. The Alchemist, Wildflour, is obviously an exception. Right?
She may be a little shy with you at first, but perhaps you can show her not all humans are quite as scary as Morris?
Wildflour
An alchemist on the hunt for rare forage, Wildflour set up her Atelier in Sunberry once she realized strange mushrooms and flowers were seen sprouting in Sunberry Forest and Mountains. While out foraging in Cindersap Forest one day, she collides with a terrified field mouse named Rose. After chatting, she offers Rose a place to stay with her in Sunberry and they quickly become inseparable friends.
Community is very important to her, so she’s always happy to help any of the townsfolk out with her alchemy or foraging knowledge. Can you help the alchemist discover the rare forage she believes is hiding in Sunberry Forest?

Can I use this in older versions of the game?
This mod is for SDV 1.6 - it is not compatible with older versions of the game.
Does this mod support multiplayer or mobile?
It is untested for mobile and I will not be providing mobile support for my mods. For multiplayer. if all the same mods are installed, multiplayer should be fine, however I cannot troubleshoot multiplayer issues. Your best bet is to try the SDV modded game support discord channel.
Can this be used on an existing save?
This mod is safe to use in existing saves! I recommend starting a new save so that the new content isn't dumped on you mid-game, but you absolutely can if you wish to and it shouldn't be a problem. Just pretend Rose and the Alchemist just moved in!
Will you make Wildflour and/or Rose Romanceable?
Nope. And you may not release a mod that makes them romanceable. Feel free to inspect some of the flags around their home and to respect my decision to make non-romanceable characters. This means mods that CHANGE that, regardless of respecting the original author's intention, are not compatible, and should not be reported to me as bugs or things to fix.
The forage spawns too much/not enough! Will you fix this?
There is nothing to fix as the forage spawns the way I intended it to. If you would like it to change, feel free to make a personal edit of your FTM file.
The older version of this used to have ___ and now they are gone! Can you bring them back?
Nope! I overhauled this and tied things together with my NPCs and I'm very happy with how it is. If something was removed, then I removed it for a reason.
How do I find "____" ? How do I unlock "____"??
Explore. Be curious. Talk to Alchemist and Rose.
This is a magical-themed mod; I am not going to give all of that information away. If you need it, you can download a mod like Lookup Anything or you can peek through the json files. But perhaps - try to explore and see how things show up naturally in game first? I promise its quite fun that way.

Comments that ask for help when the issue is answered here on the mod page will be removed. I take the time to write these FAQs specifically for you, please take the time to read them, or use Ctrl+F to search for the thing you are looking for.
This mod should be compatible with other mods as these are two unique new NPCs living in Sunberry. Their home has its own unique location and won't cause map issues. The items are all brand new and have unique internal IDs and are compatible with other item mods.
This means yes it is compatible with most major expansions.
There are some fun little Easter eggs for certain expansion mods like Visit Mt Vapius or other characters in Sunberry, but not too many since I wanted to focus on Rose and The Alchemist before tackling additional content like that.
I thought I'd break down what each prerequisite mod listed in the "Required Mods" drop-down above does for clarity. Not all of them are required, so I hope this can help clear up a few things for users who are unsure! Remember they are linked in the section above for easy access to downloading.
Livestock Bazaar (Optional) - Without it, you won't be able to purchase any familiars from the Alchemist's custom shop. New in 2.0, I've made this optional and you can just purchase from Marnie if it is not installed.
Bush Bloom (Optional) - This allows certain magical fruit and flowers to spawn on berry bushes. These items can also be found on the ground like base game forage, but the drop rate is much lower. You don't HAVE to have this, but its a lot of fun so I'd recommend it.
Forager's Nooks and Crannies (Optional) - The Alchemist speaks about several of these locations and they will spawn magical forage from this mod. There's also a new set of

HELP! The mod isn’t working! What do I do?
- Ensure your mods are up to date. Not just my mods - all of your mods. If I get a log with out of date mods I will not help you.
- Double check you have all the required mods installed for THIS mod to run.
- Delete the old version of the mod and go download a fresh version and install. Do NOT overwrite.
- Still not working? Go to log.smapi.io and follow the instructions there to get your game log.
- Please look at your log first before submitting a bug report, as it can often tell you how to solve the problem.
- Submit log via the bug reports tab with a detailed description of your issue and a copy of your cauldron config.
Do NOT copy and paste the raw data text. Do NOT submit a bug report without a SMAPI log. If a bug report is already present for your bug, do NOT duplicate it with another report. Doing any of these things will result in the removal of said bug report. Continued ignoring of these guidelines will result in me blocking you from commenting on my mods.
Rose's 10 Heart is a big WIP at the moment as it will unlock more content! Once you play through and see her 8 heart you'll have an idea of what's in store, but I'm very excited to share it with y'all when it's done!
Artisan goods - friends we have SO MANY in the works and they will be tied to your friendship with Rose. You didn't think the baker mouse wouldn't have any recipes to share, right?
More events with vanilla characters and Sunberry add-on characters!
This mod, as you can imagine, was quite the undertaking! Some translators are working on translation files currently and will be uploading them as their own files on Nexus for users to download.
If you wish to translate this mod, please message me directly to ask for permission first. AI translations are NOT allowed. If a user I give permission to translate then proceeds to use GenAi like ChatGPT or DeepSeek, I will revoke permission and ask the mod to be removed before reporting to Nexus. I reserve the right to report your translation if it was posted without my permission or to revoke permission should I find it is poorly translated or changes things with malicious intent.
