Overview:

This small mod introduces extra factors to Vault 22 to make it more challenging and creepy.

In vanilla, it's trivial to just walk up to a middle distance from each sleeping spore carrier and blow them away before they can really respond.

This mod alters their scripting and introduces other factors to make the experience tougher, more variable, and creepier.


Completely included in EDGE.


Features:

This mod is balanced and suited for addition to practically any playthrough and mod build. I recommend simply installing it without reading further, but the specifics have been detailed at the bottom of the page for those who wish to read the details before or after installation.

Under The Hood:

A height exclusion was made in the scripting to keep the carriers on the bottom floor of the common areas from triggering while the player is on the upper level.

Content Details/Spoilers:

The distance metric for spore carriers has been increased heavily, but the distance trigger only activates for one at a time, so that walking into the common area doesn't trigger everyone at once.

Each time you fire a weapon, there is a chance that additional carriers within the longer activation distance may activate, regardless of how many you are in combat with, making combat more dynamic when using ranged weapons.

There will be randomly triggered ambushes that occur when backtracking through the area, so that you can't just totally drop your guard and disregard the spookiness of the area once you clear an area the first time.

Various doors will randomly open and close, to spook you and enhance the vibe of the ambushes detailed above.
