Man On Fire NVSE
Fire spreads. When an actor is burning, nearby actors will accumulate heat exposure and eventually catch fire themselves. The original attacker receives kill credit (and xp) for all victims of the spreading flames.
AHHHHHHH!
- Actors near burning enemies gradually accumulate fire exposure
- Once exposure reaches the threshold, they ignite
- Fire resistance reduces exposure accumulation
- Vanilla burning duration untouched
- Exposure decays when away from flames
- Being in water prevents catching fire (to exinguish, use my other mod Simple Water Extinguisher )
- Kill attribution tracks back to the original fire source
- Works with all fire-based magic effects (flamers, incendiary ammo, firebombs, etc.)
- Just look:
You can see that fire will spread and then spread BACK and go on and on. But in combat? They have to be pretty close to catch fire.

Config
All settings are located in Config\ManOnFireNVSE.ini
fIgnitionThreshold
Seconds of continuous exposure required before an actor catches fire.
Default: 2.5
fDecayRate
How quickly exposure decays per second when the actor moves away from flames.
Default: 1.0
fMaxRange
Maximum distance (in game units) at which fire can spread between actors. Actors closer to the flames accumulate exposure faster.
Default: 100.0
bUseFireResist
When enabled, an actor's Fire Resistance stat reduces their rate of exposure accumulation. 100% fire resistance makes them immune to fire spread.
Default: 1 (enabled)
bPlayerImmune
When enabled, the player cannot catch fire from nearby burning actors.
Default: 0 (disabled)
bCompanionsImmune
When enabled, companions cannot catch fire from nearby burning actors.
Default: 0 (disabled)
