Another one of my world-building mods that adds a series of deeply personal, handcrafted scenes across Night City — glimpses of happiness that feel out of place in a city built on greed, violence and survival. These moments are quiet. Sometimes painful. But they matter. You’ll find a homeless family gathered around a cake, celebrating their child’s eighth birthday with scraps and smiles. In Corpo Plaza, a simple memorial stands in honour of a hero. And behind Empathy, a disgraced exotic dancer no one wants to talk about anymore.
Each scene tells a story without words. Every detail has been placed with care, inviting you to slow down, look closer and feel something in a city that tries hard to make you feel nothing at all. This mod explores the idea that happiness can still exist in the lowest of places.
In the shadow of the crumbling Ferris Wheel, tucked behind a sheet of rusted metal and crates for walls, a family celebrates a child’s eighth birthday. There's a cake, stolen. A toy, taken. But it doesn't matter. The parents sit close, tired, but trying to smile. They’ve saved what little they had to make this moment feel special. It’s not much. But to the kid, it’s everything.
Behind the club, where the noise fades and no one’s watching, she props up a cracked mirror against the wall. A single light hums above her — broken, flickering — but it’s enough. She dances there every night, not for money, not for a crowd, but for herself. They threw her out when she stopped selling fantasy. Said she was too broken. Too real. But here, in her own reflection, she’s still everything she ever was. Beautiful. Alive. Free. She doesn’t need them. This is her stage now. And she’s still smiling.
They found a quiet patch of green tucked between concrete and chaos. A blanket laid out, two cold drinks, takeout containers half-opened. Harry smiles across the picnic, laughing at his own bad jokes, brushing off the dirt from his jacket. He can’t believe a girl like Samantha said yes. She scrolls through her phone the whole time, barely looking up. Texting someone else. Smiling at messages he’ll never see. But Harry doesn’t mind. He’s just happy to be here. To feel wanted, even for a little while. Even if it’s not real.
Outside the NCPD, tucked between a pair of barricades and a flickering streetlamp, stands a small memorial. No plaque, only a badge. No rank. Just a name once carved into the stone by someone who remembered. He was the first through the smoke when James Norris tore through Corpo Plaza. While others fell back, he ran toward the chaos. He didn’t make it. But his daughter did. She wears the same badge now. Sometimes she visits. Straightens the candles. Leaves a flower. Smiles just a little, like she's still telling him, “I made it, Dad.” He was a hero. They just don’t say his name anymore.
This is designed to be seamless in your game but if you want locations look here:
Birthday Party: Opposite ferris wheel, behind a block of flats.
Picnic: The park near corpo plaza where you do the monk side mission, off a beaten path.
Dancer: Behind Empathy.
Memorial: Outside the NCPD hologram.
