SKSE plugin that adds floating subtitles over NPC heads.

Description

  1. Replaces the vanilla subtitle system with floating subtitles over NPC heads.
  2. Supports general conversation and dialogue, which can be toggled separately.
  3. Can support any number of subtitles on screen - just limited to how many NPCs are talking at the moment.
  4. Subtitles will dim when the NPC is behind walls or blocked from view.
  5. Offscreen NPCs will have subtitles displayed at the bottom of the screen, just like in vanilla. Limit is configurable.

Localized Subtitles

  1. Display subtitles in 12 languages (all official languages + Czech and Korean; not limited to the language your game is set to).
  2. Also supports dual language subtitles.
  3. This feature requires dialogue with localized subtitles (the mod must have a corresponding .ILStrings file).
  4. Sometimes vanilla subtitles may not be localized because it was edited in a mod but the string table wasn't updated along with it.
  5. Offscreen subtitles have limited dual language support because Scaleform cannot render all characters.

Compatibility

  1. Compatible with Better Third Person Selection - BTPS and TrueHUD . This mod will automatically position subtitles above their widgets when present. You can disable this feature in the MCM so subtitles always appear at a fixed offset.
  2. Supports Fuz Ro D-oh - Silent Voice.

  1. Overlapping sets of subtitles with Subtitles.

Customization

  1. Requires ImGui Icons mod for fonts.
  2. Adjust text color, shadow offset etc by editing Data/Interface/FloatingSubtitles/styles.ini.
  3. Color values should be hex (#FFFFFFFF) or RGBA values (255,255,255,255)
  4. Adjust font/font size by editing Data/Interface/FloatingSubtitles/fonts.ini.
  5. You can remove the SecondaryFont section to save some resources if you don't plan on displaying subtitles in Chinese/Japanese/Korean.
  6. Speaker name color can be adjusted by editing iSubtitleSpeakerNameColor under [Interface] in skyrim.ini.
