This mod adds two brand new Player Owned Steampowered Clockwork Horses to the area of Mzulft. Just follow the ticking sound. They are the byproduct of us horsing around. Hobbies are like that.
Screenshots by SirRumple Coming Soon.

The base horse model is a legacy port that Clockwork Tot brought over from Daz long, long ago back in July of 2022 with his Clockwork Tot Origins Mod. Thanks to the awesome reception of PWNY from Lyra, we know players love unique mechanical companions. Communities are all about feedback and finding innovative ways to add content; I am incredibly fond of crazy ideas, and we absolutely love pushing the limits of Skyrim.
We like Horsing Around.
Clockwork Tot is a masterful artificer in the art of making things spin and magic happen when buttons are pressed. He like everyone on our team is a valued team member.
Clockwork Tot has developed incredible new skill sets from working with us on Lyra, and with me acting as his muse, he is returning with amazing new mods (including an upcoming clockwork farm!).
Inspiring each other is what friends and collaborators are for.
I know many players have been asking for proper mechanical mounts for The Timelost Dwemer and dwemer themed characters, as well as unique options for Nords and Snow Elf fans.
Due to that we have made two versions available to you. Both horses are Indestructible and have enough stamina to sprint from Riften to Solitude no problem.
The Clockwork Brand Steed: A shiny, classic Dwemer metal horse that is highly representative of Clockwork Tot's brand, featuring images of his first clockwork follower. The lore behind it is was a Dwemer named Dr. Clockenstein made this.
The Arcanyx Steed: A striking, color-changing metal horse utilizing Stahlrim/Diamond/Quartz Crystal, and oil textures. It features the Arcanyx logo. The changing colors represent my whimsical chaotic unpredictible nature. The lore behind this one was Dr. Clockenstein developed this as a showcase of the truce between the Atmorans/Nords with the Snow Elves/Falmer. It sadly wasn't introduced to the world because of the "Night of Tears" incident.
The real reason: Because I want to showcase the inner workings. I love seeing things move.
I view myself as the force of chaos in our group. As the project lead, I’ve earned the nickname "Skooma Head" because I get these crazy ideas. But look at Mnemoli, Lyra, and Cicera ReSithis'd. All three mods started as the "Whimsical Ideas of Arcanyx."

Where To Find Them
To obtain these fantastic steeds head over to Mzulft there is a gazebo and located there is a pile of junk for you to activate. Once you activate it a script will fire and the DX version will be brought to your general vicinity and you will get two power tomes.
Permissions
Aside from the exceptions below regarding Translations and Retextures, no other permissions are granted. You may not package these mounts into standalone follower mods. We will be able to tell, as the animated gears are entirely transformed from the original asset files. Clockwork Tot did make the pistons and the the action from scratch :P:P the Daz model leaves an awkward 'open space' That custom work is what separates a simple asset port from a true, collaborative, transformational, human-made masterpiece.

Retexture Policy (My Modder Challenge)
You are allowed to retexture these horses, provided you require this original mod as a strict master.
Think of this like an automobile designed to fuel individual creativity. Except it is a steampowered clockwork horse. Much like Ford or Ferrari, some modders and players have logos of their own.
The reason it is a challenge policy is simple. Unleash your creativity. Imagine horses with the symbols of the Divines or Daedric Princes. They can even be "faction designer styled," the inspiration this can bring and the possibilities are endless.
You can even make a herd of brand new horses! Be creative, but respect the framework! Best part you can earn DP.
Translation Policy
I love translators. Spread the word. They allow mods to reach more audiences. They deserve the DP.
Credits
Charlie (OG Digital Daz Artist): Eternal gratitude to this master artisan for drafting the original, incredible Steampunk Horse asset within the digital realms of Daz long, long ago. Without this fundamental blueprint, our stable would be entirely vacant!
Clockwork Tot (The Grand Kinetic Animator) : Special commendations to this masterful artificer for literally taking the reins. He worked absolute tonal magic to make the pistons pump, the gears spin, and things actually happen when buttons are pressed. He is the true engine of this workshop!
The Arcanyx Team (The Long-Suffering Crew) : High honors to the engineering crew for consistently wearing protective ear-defenders to block out my wildest "skooma-fueled" ideas, only to roll up their sleeves and help forge them into reality anyway. Survival bonuses have been distributed.
SirRumple (The Elite Khajiit Photon-Capturer): Maximum praise to our favorite Khajiit Screen Archer. This individual utilized advanced optical lenses to capture the light-frequencies of our steeds, proving that these mechanical horses look absolutely magnificent, even when stationary!
The Modding Community (The Hive-Mind Generator) : A grand salute to the wider community for being a perpetual source of inspiration and chaotic feedback. You keep our internal pressure gauges at maximum capacity.
Arcanyx (The Lead Skooma-Headed Artificer) : The primary force of chaos, project director, and self-appointed muse. I get the crazy ideas, I push the parameters of the game engine, and I ensure the colors are enough to amaze a Frost Troll. You are entirely welcome!
FAQ
ESPFE?
Yes! The data-cube has been compressed using light-tonal compression algorithms. It occupies minimal space within your localized load-order lexicon, bypassing the standard 255-index limit entirely.
Why the Retexture Policy?
I like to challenge modders and see what creative things they can do.
All modders are artists, and simply creating and executing the idea is an art form in itself - true conceptual art. I want us to transform Skyrim together; that is what makes a community. Inspiration is vital for any creator to make a new work, whether it is completely original or beautifully transformative.
Paint the plating with the sigils of the Divines, Daedric Princes, or your own guild logos! You can even make a herd of brand new horses!
Just respect the structural integrity of the original forge by requiring it as a master.
Why all the colors?
It keeps the trolls away. Especially Frost Trolls. They like to visit Dawnstar at times for some reason and attack villagers. People make such great ideas.
Mid-Game Safe
Yes! You may integrate this horsey mechanism directly into your active temporal stream or what digitals call "Load Orders." The gears will mesh seamlessly without fracturing your current save-matrix or causing a localized dragon break.
Compatible With?
Yes! The horses fundamental geometry is highly adaptive. It has been insulated against cross-frequency interference, allowing it to function alongside a vast array of external modifications without catastrophic mechanical failure.
Seriously? How Many Mods Are You Working On?
Hundreds? Thousands? Some are concepts, some are actively being worked on. Some I am dabbling with when I get the spark of creation. Skooma Cat is my Elder Scrolls Spirit Animal. You never know what I am going to release in the future. I just make mods for myself and share them.
Need Caffiene?
Negative, but the Lead Artificer does. The internal boilers of the steeds require water and tonal pressure, but the creator's internal engine requires continuous infusions of dark, roasted bean-elixir extract to maintain optimal cognitive pressure.
Without this vital lubricant, the creative gears seize up, and the automaton ceases to innovate!
