Manually drop hints and/or screens pak file(s) from archive(s) to Mods folder (Appdata\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods) and enable it/them in in-game mod manager. Or use BG3MM/in-game mod manager.
If you are using in-game MM only, keep Hints mod disabled, MM forcefully disables it anyway. It will work disabled. It is advised to keep New Loading Screens disabled too in IGMM, it will work, but won't cause issues in multiplayer that way.
