Dragonborn Reasonable Enhancement Mod

Hallo all dragon enthusiasts! Take a look at the Dragonborn’s race description:

A proud race that values clan and skills above all else.

Wow! They value skills worthy of pride! Well then… let’s see their race bonuses:

Fire/Frost/Shock/Acid resistance

Short-ranged breath every short rest

Pretty cool, but I wanted to make Dragonborns a little more useful—without breaking game balance (as much as possible).

Features

1. Proficiency Added
Gear proficiency is key in this game. Shields can save a caster early on, and longbows make for a deadly bard sharpshooter.
Since Dragonborn clans train hard to protect their group, I added:

Longsword, Shortsword, Longbow, Shortbow, and Shield proficiencies

Athletics skill as a little extra bonus

2. Movement Speed Bonus
Tall creatures with long legs usually run faster (like giraffes!). Dragonborn are tall too, so they now gain:

+2m movement bonus (same as Wood Elf)

3. Dragon Eyes (Devil’s Sight)
This one might feel a little OP, but I couldn’t resist. Dragonborn’s jewel-like eyes can now pierce magical darkness:

Can see in magical darkness, same as Warlock’s Devil’s Sight

Compatibility

This mod only edits the base Dragonborn race entry.

It doesn’t touch subraces, so it should work fine with mods that only adjust Dragonbreath or subrace features.

I hope to recreate this mod and release a console version once the official mod tools are available.
