Terms and Conditions:

Eligibility:

1.1 Registered GGMods users who meet the age requirements are eligible to participate. (This is understood as individuals 18 years old or older, or 13 years old or older with the consent of a legal guardian)

1.2 The registered GGMods account must be in good standing, meaning, not currently under suspension or ban whether temporary or otherwise.

1.3 GGMods employees, direct family and members of the judging panel are free to participate but not eligible to win any prizes. Grand prize, weekly or otherwise.

1.4 Cash prizes will be delivered via Paypal or international wire transfer. Prize money may also be converted to a Steam gift card upon request. Participants ascertain that they can receive money through any of the mentioned avenues.

1.5 Participants must be members of the official GGMods Discord server for the duration of the event, as official announcements and winner communications will take place there. For verification purposes, participants are required to use a Discord display name in the server that clearly matches or identifies their GGMods display name. If a participant cannot be reasonably identified on the Discord server at the time prizes are awarded, or is not present on the server, GGMods reserves the right to consider the prize forfeited.

1.6 Participants must follow the GGMods Content Moderation Rules and are expected to conduct themselves respectfully throughout the event. Our goal is to foster a positive and welcoming environment for all creators and community members. GGMods reserves the right, at its discretion, to disqualify participants, remove entries, or revoke eligibility where conduct is deemed disruptive, harmful, or otherwise negatively impacting the community or the integrity of the event.

1.7 All entries must adhere to the GGMods Terms and Conditions and the End User License Agreements (EULAs) of the games involved. Entries that are found to be in violation of these policies will be disqualified at the discretion of GGMods.

1.8 Creating or using alternate, automated, or otherwise fraudulent accounts to artificially inflate downloads or engagement metrics is prohibited. Accounts involved in such activity may be subject to suspension or permanent bans, and entries found to have benefited from such behavior may be disqualified at the discretion of GGMods.

Participants are welcome to promote their entries and encourage others to download them through legitimate means, including social media and community outreach.

Event Rules:

2.1 Modathon entries can be submitted from April 13th 12:00 AM EST to May 11th 11:59 PM EST.

2.2 Eligible Modathon Submissions are for the following games only:

2.3 To enter, the participant must submit a new mod to the GGMods website from the above games.

2.4 To be eligible, submissions must be newly published and must not have been released or distributed prior to the event. Mods that were worked on before the Modathon begins are still eligible, provided they have not been previously published elsewhere. Submitting a mod that has already been released or presented as a new entry when it is not will result in disqualification from the event.

2.5 Additionally, to qualify as a valid entry, mods must have the Spring Madness Modathon 2026 tag applied to their mod page at the time the event ends.

2.6 Users may continue uploading or mirroring previously released work to the platform as usual, provided such submissions do not use the Spring Madness Modathon 2026 tag, which is reserved exclusively for eligible event entries.

2.7 To ensure the event highlights original creative work, entries may not include assets or content produced using generative AI tools. This includes AI-generated artwork, textures, models, audio, writing, or similar content. Mods found to contain such material may be disqualified from the event.

2.8 The Modathon and all related tracking of engagement metrics will end on May 11 at 11:59 PM EST. Final download and activity totals used to determine winners will be recorded at that time.

Prizes:

3.1 Cash Weekly Prize consists of: $100 USD awarded to one qualifying entry that follows the theme designated for that week, as determined by the panel of judges. This prize is awarded once per week, per qualifying game, and will be distributed after the conclusion of the Modathon.

3.2 Gift Card Weekly Prize consists of a Steam gift card with the value of $50 USD awarded to the qualifying entry that receives the highest number of downloads during that week. This prize is awarded once per week, per qualifying game, and will be distributed after the conclusion of the Modathon.

3.3 Grand Prize consists of $1000 USD awarded to the qualifying entry with the highest number of downloads during the Modathon period, defined as April 13 at 12:00 AM EST through May 11 at 11:59 PM EST, within its respective game category.

3.4 Awards awarded by a judge panel will be judged based upon creative use of the week’s theme, quality of the mod and its presentation (mod page description, thumbnail, screenshots).

3.5 The judge panel consists of GGMods Community Managers and mod authors from the participating games.

3.6 Prizes are non transferable.

3.7 Participants are encouraged to submit multiple entries to the Modathon, provided each entry meets the eligibility requirements. Participants may receive multiple prizes across the event, including both weekly prizes and the Grand Prize, so long as each winning entry independently qualifies under the applicable judging criteria.

3.8 Collaborative entries are allowed. However, any prize awarded for a collaborative submission will be granted exclusively to the GGMods account that submitted the entry. That participant will be recognized as the official prize recipient. Any arrangements regarding the distribution or sharing of the prize among collaborators must be handled privately by the participants. GGMods assumes no responsibility for distributing prizes among collaborators and will not mediate or resolve disputes regarding prize allocation.

3.9 Winners are solely responsible for any taxes, duties, or reporting obligations associated with receiving prizes, as required by applicable laws in their jurisdiction.

Winning Announcements and Prize Delivery:

4.1 Winners will be announced on Friday, May 15 via the official GGMods Discord server and through an official news post published on the GGMods website.

4.2 Winners will be contacted through the official GGMods Discord server. Participants are responsible for ensuring they remain members of the Discord server during the announcement period and for the following days so that community managers may reach them for the delivery of their prizes. Participants must also maintain a Discord display name that clearly corresponds to their GGMods display name to allow for verification.

4.3 Winners may be required to complete verification at the discretion of the GGMods team to confirm authorship of the submitted entry. Failure to provide requested verification within the timeframe specified by GGMods may result in the prize being forfeited, and where applicable, awarded to the next eligible participant

4.4 In the event of a tie for any prize category, GGMods reserves the right to determine the winner using additional criteria, which may include judging review, engagement metrics, or other relevant factors at the discretion of the GGMods team.

4.5 Prizes will be distributed within a reasonable timeframe following the conclusion of the event and completion of winner verification. Participants are responsible for providing any information reasonably required for prize delivery.

Modathon Participation Legal Disclaimers

5.1 In accordance with our Terms of Services, you retain all ownership over your mods, including submitted projects to the Modathon. There is no transfership of ownership by participating in this contest.

5.2 By entering the Modathon, participants grant GGMods permission to use their username, submitted mod, and any associated images, media, or descriptions for promotional, editorial, or marketing purposes related to the event and the GGMods platform. Winners may also be featured in promotional materials, announcements, and social media posts, which may include their username, likeness (where applicable), and their submitted work.

5.3 This event is organized by GGMods and is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by the developers or publishers of the participating games.

5.4 GGMods reserves the right, at its discretion, to disqualify any entry or participant at any stage of the event if they are found to be in violation of the event rules, the GGMods Terms of Service, or the Community Guidelines.

5.5 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Montreal, Quebec.
