Arsinoitherium - (Prehistoric Content Series Pt.3)

Arsinoitherium is a massive, two-horned beast resembling an ancient rhinoceros, said to have existed since the Dawn Era. Considered distant kin to both Mammoths and Horkers, these creatures have adapted remarkable ways to endure Skyrim’s bitter cold. A thick layer of insulating fat protects them from frost, while their bodies maintain warmth through unique natural mechanisms—similar to those found in Frostbite Spiders, allowing them to thrive where most creatures would perish.

Populations of Arsinoitherium are known to roam Hjaalmarch, Eastmarch, and along the rivers of Whiterun’s plains. Strangely, another population also exists in Elsweyr, though how such massive creatures crossed provinces remains a mystery that continues to puzzle scholars.

Solitary by nature, Arsinoitherium are fiercely territorial. A charge from these multi-ton beasts is nothing short of catastrophic—often fatal to any unfortunate enough to stand in their way.
