Disables level scaling of quest XP rewards and revises a number of rewards for better character progression and pacing.

Quest XP Overhaul

There are a couple of problems with quest XP in New Vegas.

Lots of things scale to your level, and unfortunately this includes some of the XP rewards as well, particularly in the DLCs. In Lonesome Road for example, the total XP reward can go from a measly 3000 at level 5 to 22000 at level 45+. That is over 7x difference.

Another thing is the amount of XP points awarded in the DLCs. They tend to be so much higher than anything and everything in the mainland, which can throw the leveling process way out of whack. One would progress in a balanced, steady pace, and then all of a sudden, gain 10. 15 levels in a fraction of the time just by doing OWB or LR. JSawyer mod tried to balance this by reducing the DLC rewards globally and increasing the XP required for leveling, but having played it numerous times, It's not enough. There was still a major disconnect between the Mojave and DLCs, and having to game around the level scaling was just bad. Moreover, broad global changes like that don't take into account the areas and parts of the game that already progress slowly enough, so it actually makes things worse there.

Quest XP Overhaul addresses these issues by doing several things:

  1. No Level Scaling - DLC XP scaling is removed altogether, so starting DLCs at level 10 now grants the same XP as level 40
  2. Balanced DLC XP - DLC XP rewards are set to a fixed but reasonable amount that is more in line with the rewards in the Mojave
  3. Better Rewards In Mojave - The XP of a number of underrewarded Mojave quests is increased to make them feel more worthwhile and to further lessen the XP gap between the Mojave and DLCs

All in all, the quest XP progression should feel a lot more consistent and fluid throughout the entire game, from start to finish, instead of having huge unnatural spikes/dips at different points.

The mod should be compatible with anything. It pairs well with something like a JSawyer mod. I recommend enabling the reduced common task XP settings that come with that as well, such as the bLowerXPRewards option in JSUE, because the game does throw a lot of high XP trash mobs at you, and this can really accumulate over time and overshadow the XP you get from quests.
