Character Kit Remake Patch

Description:

Simple Character Expansions seems to be the go-to character overhaul these days, but as with every character overhaul patching is a pain. That's why I made this mod, all the benefits of a character overhaul with none of the normal downsides. This mod makes no edit to vanilla NPCs and will not conflict with anything. Designs are unchanged from that mod, so check out its mod page for screenshots.

An additional benefit to being scripted is the option for configuration. This mod comes with an INI file for configuration, currently with two options - one for disabling the NPCs that are covered by Brave New World so that its new faces that match its revoices get applied, and one for disabling the change to Pretty Sarah as I think the design is a downgrade from vanilla. Prett y Sarah's appearance is vanilla by default. Joshua Graham's "Burned Man" appearance is also configurable. I may look into adding more configurability in the future.

Patch provided for Character Kit Remake.

How Does it Work?

This mod makes use of the BaseCopyFaceGenFrom function from ShowOff NVSE and creates dummy NPCs of all overhauled NPCs containing their FaceGen changes, then uses a script to apply the FaceGen changes from the dummy NPCs to the vanilla NPCs. This means no base game records are edited and there are no typical conflicts.

No performance impact noted on my iGPU laptop. Script only runs once on game load.

What Are the Downsides?

Due to being scripted, this mod's FaceGen changes will overwrite any FaceGen changes made in plugins to overlapping NPCs. Not really a downside as most people only use one character overhaul, but worth mentioning.

Beyond that, I'm not really sure. I haven't seen anyone else really utilize this function, but it works exactly as expected in my testing.
