Features

Core Mechanics:

  1. Input: Dual hotkey system (default: Plus/Minus keys, fully remappable) + optional controller support (Grab + TogglePOV/VATS)
  2. Animations: 7 negative gestures, 4 positive gestures (randomly selected)
  3. Requirements: First-person only, auto-holsters weapon, 2.5s cooldown between taunts
  4. Range: Configurable max distance (default 500 units, 0 = unlimited)
  5. Safety: Blocks during combat, menus, or invalid targets

NPC Reactions (Negative Taunts):

  1. Companions: Disapproving animations (head shake, finger shake, shush) + complaint dialogue, no offense tracking
  2. Powerful NPCs: 50% chance to laugh it off (5+ levels higher, 250+ HP, or max Confidence) - random laugh animations with gender-specific chuckles
  3. Weak NPCs: 60% chance to cower and flee (5+ levels lower or 3+ STR lower)
  4. Evil Alignment: 50% chance to counter-taunt with middle finger (non-combat only)
  5. Combat Frenzy: 50% chance if already fighting + player has 5+ more INT or CHA
  6. Creatures: Dogs/animals growl, mole rats hiss, Super Mutants/ED-E react as humanoids (well, with their own voice lines)
  7. Named Characters: excluded from pissing their pants to retain immersion. Edit included KEYWORDS file!

NPC Reactions (Positive Taunts):

  1. Companions: Friendly animations (wave, hands on heart, salute) + acknowledgment dialogue, +1 disposition
  2. Prostitutes: Wolf whistle sound + hello dialogue
  3. NCR Soldiers: Full or lazy salute based on reputation (Idolized/Liked = full, Accepted/Neutral = lazy)
  4. Legion Soldiers: Roman salute or wave based on reputation (Idolized/Liked = salute, Accepted/Neutral = wave)
  5. Generic NPCs: +1 disposition, hello dialogue, 30% chance to wave back
  6. Creatures: Dogs/animals bark, mole rats yawn, Super Mutants/ED-E react as humanoids

Perk Interactions:

  1. Terrifying Presence + Children: Children flee with gender-specific terrifying shouts
  2. Sneering Imperialist + Tribals/Raiders: Player makes spitting sound
  3. Wild Wasteland: I won't spoil this, but if you're a big kid you'll like it

Combat & Reputation System:

  1. Three-Strike System: Configurable offenses before NPC attacks (2-10, default: 3)
  2. Warning System: Warning dialogue at second-to-last strike + on-screen message for final warning (if 3+ strikes configured)
  3. Disposition: -5 per negative taunt, +1 per positive taunt (not really used but the mechanic exists in game)
  4. Per-NPC Tracking: Each NPC tracks offenses independently

Configuration (MCM/INI):

  1. Negative/positive hotkeys (1-265 or 0 to disable)
  2. Enable/disable three-strike offense system
  3. Offenses before combat (2-10)
  4. Maximum taunt distance (0-2000 units, 0 = unlimited)
  5. Enable/disable controller support

Audio:

  1. Positive/negative taunt trigger sounds
  2. Gender-specific: chuckles, terrifying shouts
  3. Special effects: wolf whistle, spitting, dog bark/growl, mole rat hiss/yawn

Technical Features:

  1. Big list of KEYWORDS-driven excluded NPCs (so as not to break the game)
  2. Event-driven architecture (mostly)
  3. Per-NPC offense tracking via auxiliary variables, maintain over sessions
  4. Weapon holstering/unholstering automatically, but you can't really taunt with your weapon out
  5. Target validation (living, not disabled, not talking, not sleeping, not restrained)
