Discover Appalachia

In the vanilla Fallout 4 universe, Appalachia is referenced in dialogue and broadcasts as West Virginia, an area spared from direct strikes during the Great War. However, over the centuries, it fell to a mutating plague. By 2287, many survivors who fled the East Coast describe it as a highly hostile, desolate area that has been largely picked clean, although some consider it a better alternative to the extreme radiation of the Capital Wasteland.
